Coronation Property’s Managing Director Joseph Nahas said that Jamie Duriehas been selected to design The George River banks, the area where The Paper Mill project is situated. The Paper Mill project is a residential development that seeks to offer Liverpool with a modern approach to living and urban life on the Georges River’s banks. The development will feature 1,045 apartments across several buildings. These contemporary residences are going to provide a vibrant and welcoming community for the families of Liverpool who are of different demography. The project will also become a true “river city” that is only a few minutes away from Badgery’s Creek’s airport.
The work to design the boardwalk along the river bank was assigned to the Liverpool City Council as part of the Georges River landscape proposal. This shared path will urge the locals and the visitors to participate in the river’s waterside activities. Various native plant species are going to be planted on both sides of the boardwalk with an aim to rejuvenate the landscape. It will also help improve native floral and aquatic life in the area, enhance the stability of the river bank, and lessen the possibility of erosion.
Coronation Property will cover the $6.5 million worth of expenses for the landscaping project and the state and local government do not have to spend a dime. Meanwhile, the boardwalk that Urban Design, SJB developed for the entire The Paper Mill precinct is going to link the riverside to the Liverpool Railway Station. The design of the precinct down to the connection to the boardwalk was assigned to Jamie Durie, a famed media personality and world-renowned horticulturalist and landscape designer. He will be tasked to create a children’s playground, relandscape the Light Horse Park on the North, and the Mill Park on the South of the boardwalk. In addition to that, the site plan also seeks to connect The Paper Mill buildings and boardwalk precinct.
Coronation Property’s Joe Nahas also aims to provide The Paper Mill community with a link between an indoor and outdoor lifestyle that residents will love. The Paper Mill will be home to about 3,000 residents and all of them will have access to the river. They will also have the chance to enjoy the many river activities either on or beside the water. Coronation Property also wants the project to be the catalyst for the revitalization of Liverpool and aid reorient the residents towards the river.
The project seeks Liverpool into a true “river city” and the company is very proud to be financing the section’s transformation. Coronation Property also thinks that this project will be a significant step in restarting the western-Sydney’s thinking into taking advantage of its river asset. The company has come to understand that this project is a great chance for the private sector to give back to the community through this smart public domain and amazing amenity.
In an interview with Jamie Durie, he said that his company, which is an international landscape and architecture and design firm, has been awarded the landscape masterplan tender. Durie’s firm has worked on various international projects in different parts of the globe like the Victorian Arts Centre precinct, Westmead Children’s Hospital, Sheraton Salobre Golf and Spa Resort and Hayman Island Resort.Durie firmly believes that Coronation Property’s project is a wonderful idea as it would open up the foreshore. It will give the public access to Georges River, an opportunity to marvel in its natural beauty. He also supported the company’s move to better utilize the river because it is an attractive feature of Liverpool.
